Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, COVID-19 is covered under Detour Insurance plans. If you get COVID before your trip and can’t go: Trip Cancellation can reimburse your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you (or your travel companion/family member) are sick and a doctor advises you not to travel. It also covers you if you’re officially quarantined within 10 days of departure. If you get COVID during your trip: Trip Interruption can cover unused trip portions and extra costs to get home if you’re too sick to continue. Medical bills while traveling: If you contract COVID on the trip, Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense can pay for necessary treatment (doctor, hospital, tests, medicine) up to the selected plan’s limit.
