Detour Insurance offers coverage plans for U.S. residents up to their 80th birthday traveling anywhere in the world more than 100 miles from their home.
Up to 10 travelers (comprising the primary traveler plus nine additional travelers) less than 80 years of age with the same travel dates and the same state of residence, can receive coverage under the same policy.

Detour Insurance does not offer annual travel plans. You may select a Detour plan for trips not to exceed 180 days in length.
Your Scheduled Departure Date cannot be more than eighteen (18) months from your Purchase Date.
Detour Insurance does not offer Coverage For Any Reason (CFAR) plans.

You will receive via email a revised Welcome Letter and updated fulfillment documentation.

In the lead-up to your adventure or while you're traveling, international assistance coordinators are available, 24 hours a day/seven days a week, to provide travel assistance for travel-related questions. Detour policies provide coverage for U.S. residents traveling 100 or more miles from their primary home excluding the following destinations: Afghanistan, Belarus, Crimea, Iran, Israel, Myanmar/Burma, North Korea, Palestinian Territories, Russia, Ukraine, Syria, and Venezuela. You will not be able to select any of these restricted destinations from the destination dropdown menu during the policy quote/purchase process. These restricted destinations impacted by war or sanctions are excluded from any and all coverage, and claims will not be paid for any events that may occur relating to travel to, from or within these destinations. This list is current as of 5/1/24 and is subject to change.
